On another note, I too was looking forward to Rush talk.
The main thing about noise I think here is that we're not accustomed to it. Sure, it's very loud here, but I think what irritates the hell out of most of us is the stupid megaphone Khmer shouting idiots and drunken karaoke bars singers. To them it's not noise, but language and music. To us, it's irritating ugly ramble.
Also, mentioning about the buildings, they are the WORST for amplifying noise. I blow my nose in my room and it sounds like a freakin hurricane. Back at my little apartment in Tatsuno I could turn my guitar amp up halfway and rock out to Rush
and my neighbors could barely hear me. I asked them to let me know when too loud was and they told me the didn't realize I was playing anything.
