Apparently they may be racing in Phnom Penh too, just not officially. Pretty bizarre announcement IMO. "Go ahead and race but the government won't provide any safety or security assistance." Same philosophy as the road and traffic system I guess.
So I wonder if the countrysiders may be coming to Phnom Penh afterall, or if the lack of 'official races' kills it.
According to the MRC the level at the PP Port is 3.2m right now, projected to reach about 2.6 by Nov 23. Regarding the river level, to the best that I can determine this is the lowest the Tonle Sap has been at this time of year since 1988, maybe much longer. I'd be interested in finding a comprehensive water level history, with the actual levels included.
