[ quote="AE86"]Little off subject, but how do people get their documentaries out there and noticed? Is there a centralised hub/forum where documentary makers can go to post content? Or is it just a spray and pray approach on youtube/facetube/etc?[/quote]
The short film festival circuits are generally the first step for film makers who are trying to forge a career in documentary film making. There are forums specific to the craft that run competitions as well as Vmeo and other online avenues, but the reality is if you want to get noticed you have to make a kick ass compelling, interesting and unique film that has a great story line or subject matter delivered in an engaging way.
Here are two of my favorite short docos of recent times.
