I had a Land Rover in the US for about a half year. The basic service fee was set at an initial $570, (2005) which was basically an oil change. Sometimes they would 'reset' something at additional extortionate fees, but at the time I was living in the hills, and during the rainy season, it was like being the king of the road. Getting up those steep slippery little mountain roads, slowly but surely, was a thrill I always recall with a great sense of joy.
