I went back to the UK this summer, transiting through KL. With me I took 1,400 cigarettes - 1,200 more than the allowed amount.
They were in checked luggage.
I had no problems as I changed planes in KL and was through and out of Heathrow in about 15-20 minutes, also with no problems.
As I understand it, most Customs stops these days are Intelligence led, rather than random stops.
It is, of course, your choice if you wish to risk it or not.
You naughty Boy.
what is the worst punished if they random found them extra 1,200?... a slap on the hand and a fine?
It's well worth the risk imo.
A NZ tv progame is funny Customs airport most of the Chinese declare no food, no tobacco, but all of their suitcases are full of both., and its the usual excuse,.they don't understand the arrival card details. tick everything NO..
sorry,... off topic.
