I know it's a bit early, but nice to put our thinking caps on now.
I see the very beginning of cheaper electricity (not for us yet, but for govt institutions and business zones first, I imagine) starting in November with the hydroelectric dam. The start of something better.
Really early, but FINALLY, a start! Success there will create momentum for other hydroelectric dams next year. Some relief may come!
I see a decent, dry high season. I say this, knock on wood, because there are no nearby threat incidents, like Bangkok bombings, unexpected royal funerals, flight crashes or other super-localized "calamities" that scare away huge crowds. Been pretty quiet again so far, again, knock on wood.
Real estate, I'm a bit worried about. It may take these developers some time to realize the flooded glut they are in until they start renting some floors, etc.
I mean, what are they waiting for? Roads and electricity to suddenly become better? Have a Japanese-built Skytrain park in front of their building for 3 years of construction? A far-fetched possibility, but man, imagine years of Skytrain construction on traffic? No delays, no corruption, right? Right ...
I really hope Olympia City reinvigorates the Olympic Stadium. That'd be really nice, but I hear of systemic slowdowns with the leadership there.
With the passing of reknown architect Mr. Ang Molyvan, we need another design genius. IMHO, you can't go wrong with a super-green tower in Asia like in Bangkok and Chroy Changvar at the Outpost (yellow 6(?)-story building with lots of hanging plants). Put greenery on your buildings to ward of air pollution and smog. Cooler, too.
More glass and steel? Give us a break!! If you can't make grassy, tree-lined parks, put gardens in the air...
River Walk on the Riverside is a good improvement. But maybe a metal (wind-resistant) hanging arch over the rails to shelter people during the oppressive heat and occasional rain ...
Takmau may continue to grow ...
Bridge across the River Mekong still talking about it ...
Developments along NH 4 west of the airport starting up ... Don't know their prognosis, but maybe good for factories, and what not.
Any other improvements or developments I've missed?
