If not then you may want to check your right wrist. . .
Changed my oil/oil filter today, and I'll be asking about the rest tomorrow when I take it in to replace my muffler and get my front brake cleaned (I'm planning a trip to Kampong Cham this weekend, maybe not a best idea on my street tires, but I have a spare innertube in the seat, so we'll see). Apologies for the noob questions, which valves need be adjusted and in what fashion? Thanks for all the help ... if I can shave some money off my monthly gas bill, I'll bring you a bottle of the mango pulp wine I have fermenting in at the moment ... cheers, and thanks!
An engine like the one in your Suzuki is 4 stroke and has four valves. Two are for fuel intake and two are to allow exhaust gases to be released from the combustion chamber in the engine.
These need adjusting every 8/10000km, depending on what you ride.
Unadjusted valves can cause hard starting, increased fuel consumption, engine noise and, most importantly, can fail and drop into the engine causing a fucking nasty mess of brokenness.
Adjustment is quick and easy for a competent person ( a mechanic, such as Tony at T.W.O or another). If asking a khmer to do it then the khmer for Valves is "Val".
But, if you want better mileage - you need to also attend to the carb. Replace it or have a rebuild kit bought and fitted. That's got to be your first suspect on a bike with crappy mileage.
