^^I've thought about a diesel CB125 before, but the biggest problem (to the point of making things stupid), is the sheer size and weight requirement of diesel engines parts needed to make it work.
I have a 418cc Yanmar sitting around and have played around with it on a stand, and the stupid thing is almost 50 kg by itself, not including any kind of gearbox. To make things worse, it makes just 8 horsepower at 3600 rpm, the powerband being from 1500-3200 rpm. Ridiculous gearing would be needed, and then I have little faith that any small motorcycle gearbox would take that kind of torque.
Essentially, it would be an ultimate FE machine with no real practical purpose, other than to be different.
Of course though, I really would like to make a diesel Vepsa one of these days. I think it would annoy the scooter crowd.
