Shows up just fine.
I always keep mine in because I'm anal like that, but I've never been sure how much difference it actually makes. If you have positive pressure airflow in your case, which most people should (even if they realistically don't), you get far more in from the fans than the expansion slots, although if you have open slots below the GPU fan you'll possibly get some gunk vacuumed in, which mostly tends to clog the GPU heatsink.
Biggest problem here's the fact the country's a dustbowl in dry season and that shit gets everywhere. I also make things worse by being a smoker. It's one of the small mercies of having to flush and clean my cooling loop & rads every year, I actually make sure I get rid of the dust. I was always too much of a lazy prick to do that on air cooling, I'd leave it until the chips were practically melting.
