Rooting gives you the ability to make changes to your existing user interface. Like deleting the bloatware. I would suggest you root it then use titanium backup to freeze the bloatware (makes them stop working) first to make sure nothing bad happens and your phone stops functioning. You will also have the backed up apps to reinstall in case of problems.
If you want to get rid of bloatware to have more ram memory for your phone then use a program like Roehsoft ram expander. Lots of phones/tablets these days say they have 1-3G of ram then when you get it you realize that most of it is used up with system and bloatware apps. The ram expander can give you much needed ram to speed up your device.
Flashing is best left to those more knowledgeable if you don't know what it is then you don't really need it. Now days people are just flashing kernals rather then the whole system.
