i didnt watch the vids but i see on the 2nd vid thumbnail shows now ejection seat, no mae wests and no parachute.

aircrew inflight safety an optional extra or non existent?

I remember landing in a C 130 at PP airport circa 1991 and getting a flyby by the last functioning MiG in service.

Nothing to do with needing jets for anything. Huge kickbacks to be had on sales and maintenance contracts. The west has been showing the way for decades so it's hardly questionable.

Not sure what Cambodia needs jets for? Protect themselves from what? The Chinese have bought the country and both Vietnam and Thailand wouldn’t have much of a problem beating Cambodia.

Royal Cambodian Air Force pilots were trained in China

This was over a year ago, but has popped up on several news sites today, including some govt. facebook pages, as symbol of Khmer pride. Maybe a sign that those new jet fighters are coming soon?
