Nope. I’m out of step. And happily so. In a world where our political and cultural views are lazily acquired and expressed via FB memes, shuffling us into adopting one intrenchable side or the other in a simplistic cultural war, I am content to accept the world is a lot more complicated and there is no answer or explanation that explains everything.
I have little time for either the right or the left, the woke or the anti-woke, the conspiracy theorists who explain everything so glibly. And it pains me to see smart people throw themselves wholeheartedly into one side of the debate so unquestioningly.
I’d rather adopt a Socratic befuddlement, happy to accept I have no answers except there is no easy answer.
