The guys at Envotech look after mine - they have trained staff & the equipment to diagnose issues; no problems whatsoever (touch wood) aside from the wife's parking abilities
^^This. And the labor being something like $7 an hour (if I remember correctly), it's not actually that bad to keep it going.
People are scared of Range Rovers but honestly, I find mine no more "scary" to own than a Toyota or Lexus, even in Cambodia. It's not like Lexus or Toyota vehicles are all that cheap to repair properly either, I just had the brake booster replaced on my 4Runner in the states and it was $700. Sure, you can go cheap aftermarket or a used replacement but that's asking for trouble, which is what often happens here.
Btw in case people are wondering, you can get an 09' V6 (2.7 TD not 3.0 SD) in good original shape for $38,500 to $41,000 ish.
"Straight off the container" RRS and RRs are ridiculous though as people have started snapping up the insurance write offs and high mileage versions and then pawn them off for $60k-$80k as if they were some kind of low mileage prize so they're simply not worth it.
