Yeah, I always wonder how well the average Khmer knows English. Are we talking Sweden level of near native fluency or more like how even we can string some semi coherent sounding stuff in Khmer? My guess is more of the latter
outside of touristy zones the average Khmers level of English is basic at best tbh
i think it is changing a lot now though with the younger generation coming though
i once over heard some kids speaking in English so their mother couldnt understand what they were saying before, found it quite funny
Khmers English i find a lot better than Thais and a lot clearer, even picking up an English/American accent off their teacher haha
