Does anyone have any good stories about Japanese people going off the rails? I've heard that there were a lot of crazy Japanese people in Goa in the 80s who would take dozens of hits of acid at a time or who would take MDMA day after day for weeks on end.
We were in Goa late 90's. Full of misfits naturally. The Israelis were running the party scene, best music rigs, best drugs. They weren't unfriendly but rather standoffish. A lot of Japanese were in attendance, girls and guys and yeah, they partied to the max..big appetite for the pills etc. But they were cool. Halcyon days.
My experience of the Israeli in goa in the late 80s early 90s was that they were party animals for sure but caused a lot of problems. They would show up stacked with cash saved from their national service and go home cabbages because of all the drugs they weren't used to. An outcry in the homeland led to Israeli cops infiltration of parties trying to shut things down at source.
At the osho ashram in puna it was heard every day at the little German bakery at the end of the road...in very loud voice..DO NOT TALK TO ME.. I AM SANYASIN. Sanyasin being the idiots who payed into the cult to get extra privilege.
I spent 6 months in India that year an everywhere I went I'd come across Israelis being obnoxious or causing trouble in some way.
I'd like to point out that this was a very disproportionate section of these generally lovely people who I have absolutely nothing against.. Just don't give them drugs
