Shit, didn't know Rambutan was a gay resort...good thing my mate didn't decide to stay there after I sent him a list of possible hotels to stay at during his visit!
Rambutan,is owned by a Gay khmer, used to be called Golden banana, knowing the owner it will be gay friendly but many straight people stay there also.

There seems to be a lot of "gay guides" online for Asia:

Reading reviews for massages is like reading a recipe on how to get ripped off. Keep you eye on your wallet.
And beware the prowling ladyboys. Not as vicious as in Thailand but will rob you before you know it.
I got chased down 178 just going back to the Sundance after checking out 51st by 2 ladyboys that were definitely out to rob me.
Before laughing, I ran because I wasn't about to have a chat on a darkened street with 2 aggressive possibly armed freaks that looked like they'd stab you as fast as look at you.
I have grandkids that I would rather go home safely to.
Khmer440: Hey Grampa, tell us that story again about being chased by ladyboys. Lol
when i first arrived here a ladyboy stole my mobile phone straight out of my front shirt pocket and took off like a greyhound, high heels and all,i chased but had no chance in catching her/him:)when i mentioned it to the police chief a few days later he said that ladyboys scare him:)
