I know lots of very dark skinned Cambodians. They hate it but what can you do.
One girl calls herself an “Indian” but she’s stunning, and married to a froggy. The other I know sells whitening cream online but she’s still dark as night!
Well I guess you can always offer them your own skin-whitening cream.
I'd like to find some for a creative project, but I can imagine that despite there being many, it's quite hard to find any. I wouldn't know where to advertise, how to advertise (in Khmer), or who to ask.
It sounds like a fun assignment.
Why don't you ask the loyal graduates that you'll be hiring in your upcoming tech venture?
Lots of people sell whitening cream now online - Facebook - but four years ago nobody did. In fact FB has exploded within the last two years for online selling (they IO red and blue drink pyramid bullshit comes to mind) and so many sponsored adverts.
I’m a mod on a FB page and we still get girls trying to flog crap.
Many girls say “From Korea/Japan” etc but often its just some shit “all natural” that I wouldn’t put on a dog.
The only way to change the tone of your skin is to bleach it (sun) and change the pigment.
Maybe I’m naive but avocado or pine nut juice won’t do shit.
It’s dangerous stuff and you’re basically thinning your skin. When all these young girls are in their 30s, they will look 60.
I’ve seen girls with pasty ghostly white faces and brown arms and neck. Looks hilarious.
Some even contain SPF sun protection. So they say. Non are made in a lab!
I find it quite at odds with Cambodians strange beliefs and superstitions, or old house-wife tales. Some are funny as feck but some are downright dangerous.
I don’t even think they are related to religion.
(For the record my wife is quite white already)
