Supposedly there is some scientific basis for getting drunker quicker from using a straw - something having to do with the vacuum in the straw, the boiling point of alcohol, vapors getting into the lungs, blah blah blah. But I'd also guess it takes a lot longer to punish a full beer through a straw then slamming it as LL mentioned.
If you are in a serious hunt for a quick-onset massive "I'm in SE Asia man, I'm supposed to be buzzing" buzz, I would recommend the following: First fast for two days. Then do a merciless high intensity work-out for about an hour - something that involves resistance training as well as sprinting up stairs, etc. Then, after (or while?) showering and deodorizing as fits your custom, slam five cans of Anchor in quick succession. If that does not have you feeling good, try fasting for three days.
