Credit cards here require you to maintain 80% of the credit balance in an account you cannot withdraw from, so for example if you have a $1000 credit limit then you must keep $800 in an account therefore you're only actually getting $200 credit from the bank (I hope that makes sense?).
If you want a credit card for the benefits of being able to make online purchases, pay for goods and services overseas, etc., then just get a Visa or MasterCard Debit card, they can be used the same as a credit card but you are using your own money. Debit cards are essentially an ATM card with the same functionalities as a credit card. I recommend ABA banks visa debit card.
