Was thinking about that Aeon gold card, I think it has some cinema benefits and I go to Major cineplex 2-3 times a month.

I used the ABA Visa/mastercard. Works well

Credit cards here require you to maintain 80% of the credit balance in an account you cannot withdraw from, so for example if you have a $1000 credit limit then you must keep $800 in an account therefore you're only actually getting $200 credit from the bank (I hope that makes sense?).

If you want a credit card for the benefits of being able to make online purchases, pay for goods and services overseas, etc., then just get a Visa or MasterCard Debit card, they can be used the same as a credit card but you are using your own money. Debit cards are essentially an ATM card with the same functionalities as a credit card. I recommend ABA banks visa debit card.

Wondered if any expats here have gotten a local credit card like Aeon and if there are any real benefits vs a card from your home country with no foreign transaction fee.
