For those interested, here's a little heads-up for an event that will not re-occur for over 100 years.
Today at 22:04 GMT, Venus will pass between the Earth and the sun and Venus will be visible as a black dot against the surface of the sun. How exciting!! :p The event will last until 04:52 GMT.
Remember, don't look directly at the sun without equipment that is certified as safe to do so!
The most basic way of seeing this is to use ye olde camera obscura-type methods of viewing. Easiest way: 2 pieces of paper. Small hole in the higher one and adjust distance between to focus the image on to the lower piece of paper.
