I was an early adopted of uber, back when it was black car only. I have seen it develop over the years, in many countries. I believe that it has peaked, and is going downhill. That being said, I continue to use it, even over Grab or Lift.
I also don't support the taxi unions. Instead of improving their methods, in both taxi licenses, service, price, etc, they have doubled down and simply attacked uber in court. In many cities around the world uber has succeeded simply as a free market alternative to the atrocious practices of taxis.
Both über and taxis need to be addressed, especially with growing middle classes around the world would prefer using them over other alternatives. As Ms. Alexandra stated, simply banning a tech company will do nothing to stop others from taking its place.
