Re: No masks or social distancing during Water Festival

It was great to see Siem Reap busy again, its been getting really quiet up here recently. As there has been no community transmission for months people are not bothered any more. The floods have killed more. The only thing Covid is hurting here is peoples wallets.

Surely there are going to massive amounts of deaths from this once they have searched the rubble, well in to the hundreds? What a blast!
I think some people would have been vaporised by it.
Terrible.
Absolutely, certainly no staff will be left to explain what happened.

Rumor has it there are about 65 quarantined at Khmer Soviet hospital. Not sure if these are positive cases or this is out of precaution.
Does anyone have any confirmation of this or more info?

Re: New coronavirus spreading rapidly.

Has there been any Cambodia specific updates on action relating to the virus? such as cancelling flights from China, quarantining or closing overland borders. I've seen no official updates anywhere, even though our neighbours are doing so.

Re: Souvenirs while traveling

I travel way to much to be bothered, so generally nothing at all. However I will get a piece of art of each new country I visit if there is one that takes my eye. Otherwise a toy for my kid. I used to buy souvenirs but they are now mostly in a box.

Re: Dependent leaving the KOW for the first time on UK Passport

Cheers Spigzy, much appreciated. I suppose its much more common for the foreign dads to travel alone rather than the mum. We had a small issue a couple of years ago where my partner travelled with our daughter to Vietnam and left her with me for a few days while she went back to sort some things out...

Getting out in to the provinces and riding a dirt trail in the sticks I've not been along before.

Dependent leaving the KOW for the first time on UK Passport

Hey all, I should know the answer to this by now, however I just want to be clear. My daughter has dual British and Khmer passports and citizenship and born in Cambodia. She has been travelling around the region on her khmer passport lots over the last 3 years. This summer we will head back to the U...

Re: Taxi from the penh to the interesting bit of Cambodia..

I did it just last week, it gets better and better each year. I would say that with a decent driver it should take between 4-5 hours depending on the time of day. It’s decent all the way. Still plenty of fuckwit drivers to watch out for.

Re: Getting first British passport for British/Khmer kid

Sounds very similar to my application last year, it took me several months. Also had to prove we were in the same country at time of conception which wasa pain in the ass as she had lost her passport. There was a time when I didn't think we were going to get it but it came through in the end. The in...

Re: Siem Reap has the "World's Best Hotel" according to TA

Seems like a really odd choice to me. Shinta seem to win plenty of awards in their category.

Phum Baitong
Amansara - Although I'm still not sure its justifies the price tag
Belmond
Raffles
Park Hyatt
Shinta
Victoria
