Re: allopurinal
It always makes me smile (a real one not a fake one) when you Khmer-loving idiots get sick or run out of money and come back to your 'home' country for real people to take care of you ... personally I would ban you from returning ...

Re: khmers abroad
Wow … I think I need one final post. Looking back my OP could be interpreted as racist for which I apologize … I merely posted in jest after a senior Khmer official travelling abroad disrespected a friendly local BBC radio interviewer … normal behaviour in Cambodia but definitely NOT tolerated in a ...

Re: khmers abroad
Interesting replies … let me respond if I may on your wonderfully open and free forum … Having spent a lot of time in Cambodia, I have more respect for a cockroach than a lying, thieving sub-human piece of shit called a Khmer. Any Westerner who respects Khmers must be a complete loser who cannot mak...

Run! I think you know already ... how many other men do you think she's said the same things to ... she got lucky with you. Cut her off now and save yourself heartache and a drained bank balance.

Re: Big fight at backpacker guesthouse last weekend
Grouping together and giving an outsider a good beating (regardless of what happened) ... classic monkey behaviour ... what do you expect living in Cambodia? But more seriously ... what hope is there for a country where the ruling elite behave in such a way? Especially against visiting foreigners wh...

Re: teaching memoirs of Cambodia
Great to read some well-written and intelligent replies to my OP (although, one or two of the degenerates obviously use this forum). The above posts are spot on - stay 1 or 2 years, don't care, have some fun, travel and leave. I stayed too long and hence my parting criticism of the Khmer 'education ...

Re: teaching memoirs of Cambodia
I forgot to mention the tax issue … 8 years ago $10 an hour was OK. Now, with the 10% tax theft going on and the cost of living up maybe 50%, I see a lot of English teachers on the breadline. Is it worth it?

teaching memoirs of Cambodia
Before I begin, I’d like to point out I have a degree, a TEFL certificate and prior to teaching in the Kingdom of Wonder, I’d taught English in Taiwan (good place to teach) and Vietnam (excellent students). So no garbage about teachers not being up to the job etc. Unless you mean I’m not qualified t...

Re: problem students
I spent almost 8 years teaching English in Phnom Penh and I can sympathize with the OP on this one – time to leave before you do something really stupid. Khmers have no respect for anyone other than someone in a higher position who can threaten them into doing something. Khmer students are the dumbe...
