Re: Lights out for The Post?
Glad to see the old guard go, as the editor-in-chief was turning the paper into a rant on her own skewered political agenda. (....) Doing a hatchet job on your boss as soon as he arrives - yet another example of smug White arrogance in a country that is not their own. I think they forgot that (old-...

Re: Lights out for The Post?
Glad to see the old guard go, as the editor-in-chief was turning the paper into a rant on her own skewered political agenda. In just 2 days, I recently read EIGHT articles in the PPP on gender politics/inequality - in the same 2 editions, there was one small article on genocide in Myanmar and nothin...

Please tell her I can send her some clothes previously worn by my dead grandmother. Another good deed done today. The karma ratio is soaring. "Stamp out povert...

Re: I'm dating a Cambodian Woman in LYON - GoldDigger or no ?
This is certainly the thread that keeps on giving. I think the OP should post the woman's photo so we can get down to brass tacks. If she ain't hot- RUN. If she is hot-RUN. What man would agree to hide when Khmers come over? I have read about Khmers in the States who still behave exactly like Khmer...

Re: I'm dating a Cambodian Woman in LYON - GoldDigger or no ?
This story has more holes than a kilo of Swiss cheese, and M. Bill has answered his own question about 15 times. "Khmer culture-this", "Khmer culture-that" - Madame still hasn't realised she is living in France???? Run. If you really can't do that, come to Cambodia by yourself, spend a week in Phnom...

Re: If you could do it all over again.
I don't regret coming here 6 years ago, but I do feel like I came at the end of an era and I don't think I'd be as inclined to stay if I stepped off a plane today. I'm of a wave of expats who, for whatever reason, tried to put as much distance as possible between ourselves and the coiffed, predicta...

Re: Bank accounts in cambodia
Hi guys, if you are wanting to open an account in Cambodia DONT GO WITH ACLEDA. They are horrible at their jobs and very unorganized. On top of this someone hacked my account with ACLEDA and they won’t even refund my money to me. It was used to purchase plane tickets, I have NEVER used it to purcha...

Re: Kak Chanthy from Cambodian Space Project Killed in Traffic Accident
Might at least highlight the lunatic driving here. The driver is apparently a young guy in a Camry who is now being held for 'murder' (????). If it was the drunken young "I can do what I what" Madam in her white SUV (see other thread about her falling asleep while driving), she would of course get ...

Re: Sokha ferry schedule
Life is difficult ATM for people living in Chroy Chung Var. Last Friday morning the traffic on the bridge itself was totally chaotic, all the traffic coming into town along the river on the PP side was being diverted to the roundabout beside the French Embassy so that that was at an absolute standst...

Re: Changes at Post Office??
Got many large EMS packages with a variety of contents - never asked to pay anything. But the Post Office is going bananas: sent a fax today - got charged $3 for a single page. Apparently if it takes 1 minute (exactly) the price goes from $2 (under 1 minutes) to $3, and if it takes 1 minute and 1 se...

Re: What is the biggest mistake of NGOs
I think the issue is with hierarchy. Most NGOs seem to have an army of volunteers or poorly paid field staff, who are "cost" on the balance sheet. And then an exponentially wealthier hierarchy, and by the time you get to the top, the argument switches from "cost" to "attracting talent". Which is bo...
