Re: SHV: K9 Cambodia owner Leo Clifton accused of cruelty, abuse
That's hilarious. I love the way he tries to explain some damning correspondence he sent by saying some sketchy lady hacked into his MS Office / Skype / Google etc and did it. Yeah, I'm buying that. :-? :-? :-? It's entirely credible. If he's using Skype and Office Home or 365, those accounts can b...

Re: Highway Robbery
Thanks, that's a good tip but I encountered something when having a go at it. The phone popped an indicator that device manager had located my phone which sort of defeats the object as it would alert anyone with reasonable English that something was going on. Maybe I can get it to do it in some kin...

Re: Highway Robbery
Can't emphasise this enough: ALL ANDROID PHONES COME WITH ANTI-THEFT PROTECTION BUILT IN. (Since about 2010 anyway) The latest ones also have it turned on by default so long as you've signed into a Google account on the phone. Which everyone on an Android phone should have done. This includes Playbo...

Re: John Kerry that ...
Cambodian Facesplat chatter expresses amazement at what a "simple" man Kerry is - not quite sure what they mean by that... I of course never met him but heard him speak French which he does very well. I believe he picked it up while being a young Mormon in the 50's before buying a holiday home ther...

Re: F**K*D up driving school!
I've sat the test properly. I'm pretty sure she failed more than one question. You can get one question wrong in each section of 5. Get 2 wrong in the same section, and even if every other question is correct throughout then you've failed. It's something like another $15 to resit it the next week. I...

Re: Living/learning Khmer in the provinces
Not everybody owns a car, the trip will take a bit more than 5 hrs by (mini)bus, guaranteed. I guess minibus 6 hrs, bus7-8 hrs. Fair point, but neither do I; I bike it. As for RUPP, good option if you really want to go full-on formal and get properly academic about it, but personally there's no way...

Re: Living/learning Khmer in the provinces
Thanks for tgat. I'm also looking to do a course with a teacher in addition to living in an area where I'm forced to speak Khmer. Any thoughts on a place near PP? Not Kampot... I love it there but drink too much. K Chhnang? Battambang (or is it too easy to speak English there?) If you want to be 'f...

I'm selling my Baja:

Seat should definitely be large enough, the thing's lugged both myself and my Western wife, with our bags, all over the country.
I'm in PP though.

Re: Does OneTV have a death wish
The box they provide is garbage, it drops channels all the time. As mentioned, a rescan and they should come back. Sometimes you'll need to do it more than once to get them all. I've had it a couple of years now. From memory the only channels they fully dropped were BBC Knowledge & Lifestyle; one of...

Re: 1998 XR250 Baja for sale
Tell me about it. Recently had to replace the brushes on the starter motor and was too lazy to sort it out, so used the kickstart for a couple of weeks. Even though it kicks fairly easily, my right shin was a mess from occasionally hitting the footpeg. Very handy in a bind, total pain in the arse fo...

Re: 1998 XR250 Baja for sale
Roy, good luck. I think if someone offers you $1600 take it. Prices on these things vary wildly, and they can be a bitch to get rid off. Not that many out there in as good condition as this one though - console's fully functional, engine was rebuilt fairly recently (all OEM parts), and as mentioned...
