Re: backup a laptop without it turned on?
Was told the hard drive in my 8 year old HP desktop was bust today. Got the hard drive back. Any way data can be recovered here in PP? Years of documents, music and photos. Backed up to an external drive last time about 4 year's ago. Maybe, depends how broken the drive is. There's another thread ab...

Re: Questions from a Newbie
I have expat insurance through Southern Cross in NZ, https://www.scti.co.nz/working-overseas/
I pay around $1500nzd p.a.
I don't think its available to non NZ Citizens or former residents, but its worth inquiring with your providers back home to see if they have something similar.

Judging by some of your previous posts, on both forums, you also qualify in th...

Re:
You brought dates over to hotels...? Am I the only one who finds that weird? How did you explain that to them and how did they react? I must admit I find that a bit out there as well (unless you were somewhere that wasn't where you lived) back in my dating days if I lady was feeling accomodating I'...

I am glad Americans are allowed their voice regardless of where they actually reside.
Yeah but I don't have to pay taxes to NZ unless I'm living there, unlike folks from the states
Re: Bar girls
I remember reading an article a few years back when I was living in Thailand, it was effectively discussing the fact that women from New Zealand and Australia were the "easiest" women around (it was based on some survey that had been done around number of sexual partners, etc. but misconstrued) The ...

Re: Transporting a dirtbike around country
What sort of bike?
most of the Van / Bus companies are familiar with transporting bikes, just wander in and chat to one.
I wouldn't send it unaccompanied mind you, but if you are on the bus it shouldn't be a problem.

meh. I don't think you should vote if you aren't there.
Kiwis can't vote once they've been out of the country for 18 months, unless they can show an intent to return within the next electoral term.

Re: Potential Newbie Asks Open-Ended Question....
there appears to be a pretty active gay scene in Siem Reap, both locals and Expats - not being a part of that club I'm not sure how big, got a few mates who do move in those circles and apparently its pretty vibrant. I forgot to mention, most of the ones I know are french leaning belgians - so the ...

Re: PP:Aussie Teacher Jonathan David Dies in Butterfly Bar
Regardless of the 'facts', I'd wager there is an unsually strong or bad bad batch of smack around riverside. Npt throwing stones, but be careful out there. whether he was on that, something else, or even something involuntary, 34 year old blokes carking it in a pub toilet isn't usually natural caus...
