Re: Khmer Wife/Girlfriend working in the west?
I think you're being a bit naieve. Ask any girl from places like Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines etc what they most wish for should they be lucky enough to find a western husband and move overseas to live with him, and I would imagine 'Working for nothing' is pretty low on the list. That's quite po...

Do you think the language would be a long-term barrier though? I imagine living in an English speaking country without fellow Khmer to talk to on a regular basis most would pick up the language quite quickly. And in the meantime, especially if you're able to support her and it's mostly about "keepin...

I'd go as far as to say most problems can be fixed with WD40, and for those that can't there's duct tape.

Did I miss the post or did OP not state what exactly he took? Reminds me of a "brilliant" "article" that I wrote a while back, on how Arab terrorism has become the new political scapegoat for scaring the masses after the fall of the Soviet Union, sent it to a couple of high profile news sites, too. ...

As far as the money doesn't buy happiness stuff goes, it's true to a certain extent - it does improve quality of life tremendously up until the point when you have a roof over your head with heating/ac, enough money to buy proper food and perhaps even "luxury" like a washing machine. It's arguable w...

 I would be running to the countryside to live the simple life if PP ever started resembling that vision, it even looks like they've added in smog for effect Heretic, everyone knows that life gets better the higher the buildings surrounding you are. And on a more serious note, I understan...

Okay, apparently this is happening. Mac, what you're doing is not criticizing what I'm saying, and more specifically making clear where you disagree with me, but simply ridiculing what I'm saying. You tell me you've thought the same 20 years back, but you don't care to elaborate why you've changed y...

Moody, how about you go and think a little more about how to prove me factually wrong as opposed to simply saying my statements are shallow without providing a reason? And when you're finished I'll be glad yo accept your apology

Re: Sleeping tabs
For a long flight I'd rather say Diazepam or Temazepam seeing as they have a longer half life and you don't need to redose after a few hours. Alternatively Xanax extended release, but no idea if they're available in Cambodia

From pharmacies or from vets? It's not uncommon for it to be legally available without prescription in other countries like Mexico, but almost exclusively for veterinarian use - which of course doesn't mean it doesn't make it into the hands of those using it recreationally.

Is it that bad even out in the sticks? It's hard to imagine an entire country with crazy scooter drivers just waiting behind every corner to come out unexpectedly and burn you with their exhaust, but that's the impression I get from reading the board.vladimir wrote:No pleasure in driving in this country anymore
