Re: ‘‘I will never pray to Buddha again’’
Chapter 2: At the end of ch. 1, you mention that over time you recognized the card game as a recurring event amongst this group of women. That must have taken some time, perhaps 3-4 days at least. Yet at the start of ch. 2, we are back to the day after arriving. So even if this knowledge was gained ...

Re: Willing bride of ISIS now wants to return home
If she has done either of the above there is a very old saying about making your own bed and lying in it. As in prison, fines, losing a drivers license, your license to work in a certain profession, depending on the nature of the situation yes. Having your citizenship denounced is more questionable...

Re: Willing bride of ISIS now wants to return home
I think the press coverage and outrage that she doesn't seem resentful enough is missing some central points. She was pretty young when she went there, I remember myself at that age and all the ridiculous things I believed in very strongly and how I proudly declared my convictions, telling grown-ups...

Re: Khmer staff stories
Well, anyone can watch a baby if nothing happens. If the baby starts choking would an 18 year old Khmer know the Heimlich maneuver? If the baby has a serious medical episode would an 18 year old Khmer take it to a proper medical facility? I know tons of girls that spent a year in USA working as au-...

Re: Cambodian UN troops in Mali
Doesn’t have to be all pointless, if they are ambitious and have some kind of relevant skill sets it could be a stepping stone for an international career. But if the selection process was random rich kids wanting to just post about it on social media, then yes, a waste of time Sent from my iPhone u...

Living long term in Colombia...
Removed comment after realizing it was Colombia and not Cambodia that was talked about. Keeping an eye on details would have prevented embarrassment

Re: Chinese land a rover on the moon
Who took the photo ? The landing craft, after the rover moved away from it Why are there circular wheel tracks on the right hand side of the photo? As on the US rovers, the wheels can be turned 90 degrees for turning around it’s axis. How do we know the photo was taken on the moon ? If the signal h...

other than family (close friends) what are you prepared to die/kill for?
All those incapable of putting apostrophes in the right place deserve slow and painful death. Absolutely despicable sentiment but it's not really surprising coming out of the mouth of a Turkophobe. Illiteracy is a serious issue with serious economic ramifications and it points to a failure in socie...

Brexit Referendum June 23rd
Why is it so hard for Brittons to realise that there isn't any grand conspiracy out to get you guys. It's much simpler, it's a 28 way divorce and the other part has 27 votes... So you were bound to be asked for a lot of compromises, that should have been pretty obvious from the start Sent from my iP...
