Re: Pricing difference for foreigners Khmer
A case of beer isn’t bad! But, yea, that’s pretty lame overall. $50 to enter a race, you win and get a $10 case of Angkor, a box of Angkor Pura water and a box of Sponsor electrolyte. Whilst the 7th place overall but first Khmer runner gets $150 prize money (having paid only $10 to enter). Now spon...

Re: O Yadao Le Thanh border crossing
Hi guys, I guess no-one knew so for general info I can inform about the crossing so if anyone needs to go over there they know. We took a bus up to Banlung from PP, upon disembarking from Virak Buntham we moved about three doors down to the right and booked a bus for the next day to Vietnam for ten ...

Re: Starting a business and issuing my fiance a work permit
you can run the business as a partnership between two sole proprietors. you can apply for an exemption from the 10% rule if you can demonstrate that you need skills that are not otherwise easily available in Cambodia. Much will depend upon the scale/visibility of the business of course as well altho...

O Yadao Le Thanh border crossing
Hi all, I was hoping to cross over from Cambodia to Vietnam for a visit at the above crossing, has anyone crossed over recently, not planning to drive just foot crossing. I am British so I guess I do not need a visa but can I, and a filipina, cross over without incident. I know this was possible jus...

Re: Reports of major change to visa laws imminent
It might be an idea for people without work permits, whose visas are expiring within the next 12 months, to do a one year extension/renewal now (before 31 August), to buy some time. You can't extend a visa unless it expires within a week. Yes you can, my workplace scooted off to the ministry today ...

Re: Reports of major change to visa laws imminent
Just had a conversation with "uncle" at the ministry and this is not a rumour, this is happening as stated, as of Sept 1, there is of course the possibility that the whole thing will be kampucheaed somehow but at the ministry for imm they are aware of this new law in all it's glory, still no word on...

Re: GSM to get facelift
I think you know what I mean, no renewals, you can be sarcastic because it's not your bar or livelyhood. Ah whatever, maybe they are mostly happy to go what do I know? The point is to replace with what? Can you see this being the next Aeon mall? No I thought not. Tous le Jour in the place of Swiss ...

Re:
Cambodia had much more interesting expats back then. The quality of the ones we have been getting over the past few years is terrible, no character and seem to only worry about where to buy gluten free organic knitted musili or reusable nipple pads for nursing little Tarquin. Once they have finishe...

Yeah, the present occupants will only have the leases honored as long as they last too, the times they are a changing What?! The lease is only valid for the time it specifies? You must be fucking kidding me! I thought I could rent a property for a couple of years then have indefinite access! How da...

Re: Decent third tier school
I'd be interested in hearing some responses. I know I would personally send my kids (if/when I get some) to Lycée Descartes, but you have to speak French yourself for the kids to get in plus I believe it would be just barely out of your budget, which rules it out. How much is CIA? Footprints? I've ...

Re: Can I teach In Cambodia? ( A Reality)
Teaching English, Social History and Health topics, not really interested in language centres and the like. Hence the question, can this be done in Cambodia without a degree? English, perhaps. The others, I doubt it. Health is covered by the Khmer curriculum. Western International has/used to have ...
