Op, I know the place and the shirtless one you talk about, if I understand you correctly. So what you're saying is after some enquiries by officials the shirtless one did runner. Wouldn't be surprised, something never seemed right about the place.

Re: G Bar owner poured boiling water on my friend's head
Quite sure that both bars are owned by the same people, although that may now be person as I have not seen one of the Belgians around for some time. Also, some of the staff at bar 51 wear Tshirts with the G bar advert on the back. The remaining Belgian can usually be seen striding down 51 Street tow...

It is okay to drink beer and take antibiotics and the same time. Not a good idea to go on a bender but a few beers will not have any harmful affects with the medication. Source; my Australian Doctor, advice given to me many times, most likely because he knew I would anyway.

I tend to think a valid visa and passport are the least of his concerns. One evening I noticed that for one moment he thought he was 500riel short for a $2 jug of beer, that appeared to concern him.

Noticed him a few times during the week, appears to be doing his best which is all one can do. Like all, he has his good days and has his bad days.

Mannfred was drinking in the 99 bar at GSM last night, looked quite sober, and all spruced up. Hair maybe even shampooed, clean clothes, no bleeding foot, looking very well he was. Well, he was up until I left about 1.00am.

Ah yes, I now remember it was Gladiator bar. Okay, so at this stage the current owner got a good deal, in a way a little like the old story of the man who jumped from the 20th floor of a building and he's just passing the 12th floor, and still feels good.

Re: For all you would-be bar owners...
Anyone been into that recently opened bar on 172 with the mischievous name of The Play Penh. I havn't been around for a few weeks but after it opened whilst regularly having lunch and a couple of afternoon beers at the B Dolphin across the road, I couldn't help but notice their lack of customers, an...

Re: Is there a problem with the Air Asia Web Site
Had the same problems last week scoffer, eventually did book flights. The site either seems to freeze or is incomplete and will not allow to proceed. I tied logging in as a member as someone suggested but all that allows, as far as I know, is to check on flights already booked or taken.

Re: Most common cause of barfights in KoW?
Some interesting photos posted by PB. In the interests of research, a few comments. I see an english teacher in the first one. The Vietnamese lady in the polka dots with the baby is a strange one, since the birth of her child she seems to have stayed, at nights anyway, with some guy, French I think ...

Re: Charlie Kumar
I seem to think that photo a couple of pages back must be an old one as I don't think he had much hair on top when I was in his bar around April this year. As for running a ponzi scheme I think not, cunning he might have been but not clever or smart. Selling half a dozen 25% shares, or more, probabl...

Re: Charlie Kumar
Charlie's Bar, was that the little bar on that street that runs past Pub Street and the bar located about opposite the entrance to some Khmer medical or small hospital? If so, I was in there a couple of afternoons back in April I think it was, seemed to have a reasonable clientele, quite a number of...

Re: Sad state of nursing
Mate, when did the Burmese arrive? Never lived in Biloela but spent a lot of time there in late 70"s and 80"s involved the the then Ford Dealership, and there were no Burmese then. Just good ole bushies and rednecks and a comment like that would probably attract a smack in the mouth. Ah, the days a ...
