"THE BLAST" - definitely one?
If so, violet could be right - a gas cylinder or somesuch. But the photos suggest something detonated in more than one bus. Interesting.

Yes, definitely one, not a series.

My house is about 5 km south, and I heard the blast loud and clear, about 5:30 a.m.

Re: ER or Business visa
What nationality is your girl? That will determine whether or not she can get an Ordinary visa upon arrival (and, in fact, the likelihood of her getting one at a Cambodian embassy abroad). There have been cases of people under 55 getting ER Extensions of Stay (EoS) if they can prove adequate income,...

OP, check out this Facebook group:

Several under-55 members have gotten the ER extension and listed in some detail the documents they provided. Mostly in PP, I believe.

Re: Khmer script for Cambodian minority languages
Try reaching out to some of the Christian organisations around Phnom Penh. I think I remember meeting someone with an NGO that had been translating the Bible into one of the minority languages. You may not agree with their mission, but they can possibly help answer your question.

Re: Reports of major change to visa laws imminent
I read the b2b article i cannot see what the big panic is ? ... 2. You are not working and can get the extendable 12 month ER Visa but cannot work on that visa ( and unlike thailand there is no need to have USD$15k in the bank etc ) What am i missing ? You're missing the bit about the need to be 65...

Re: Reports of major change to visa laws imminent
Is having to leave the country every ninety days and then promptly return going to be a deal breaker for a lot of people? It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if you're permitted indefinite visa runs. I wonder if continuous back to back visa runs will be tolerated, however. A valid concern. Malaysi...

Dick van der Poel at Physiotherapy Phnom Penh is excellent. He studied acupuncture in Singapore, if I remember correctly.

FYI, Mama's NY Deli has moved recently, from BKK1 to Toul Tompoung. It's now on St 123, just south of 460. Still has good food and the same irrepressible Khnew York Mama.OldOldGuy wrote: I've read here about Mama's NY Deli...

She is gonna cremate him here..... Seems strange that a hardcore Catholic such as herself would do that, no? The Catholic Church no longer prohibits cremation. If she wants to return his remains to his or her home country, I assume it would be far less costly to transport ashes. Just a thought. May...

Re: Pepper plantation in Kep
Kudos! I've heard that pepper is a challenging, time-consuming crop to get started, and it looks like you've done a gorgeous job. As Salvejeuno said, it's refreshing to see an upbeat post. I wish you all the best with your Kep-pot pepper.
