Re: Adapting to Cambodia
The heat was the thing i found hardest. i thought Cambodia was probably about the same as Australia when it came to the heat but boy was i wrong. Cambodia is on a different level. My advice is just pay the extra 50 bucks a month to have your air conditioning on full blast all the time when you are h...

Re: Throwing in the towel.....
I'm in the same boat. Have handed resumes into about 20 schools including Beltei and not a peep so far. Kinda sick of walking around sweating my arse off in business attire in 35 degree heat handing in resumes to schools only to have some Cambodian secretary more or less grunt at me as i hand them t...

Re: Cambodian Lady Vacationing Overseas
I see there earlier in the thread that Cambodians make 250 a month. What about the ones driving around the SUV gas guzzlers you see everywhere? How much are they making and what line of work are they in to afford to be driving around in these things?

Re: Handing resumes in to the factory schools
Well i pay about 230 a month right now (bills all inclusive) for a nice big room in an apartment close to the Olympic Stadium. I've been trying to spend more on street food as you can get that for a dollar or 2 per meal buts its very hit and miss. A Cambodian version of the Big Mac meal from Lucky B...

Re: Handing resumes in to the factory schools
Jesus man. Are you looking in to my kitchen right now with a telescope Jason Bourne style? And for the record. Yep i did hook up with a bar girl on my first night here. I thought i got a great deal at 50 for around 2 hours but apparently i got ripped off! It was only a once off though. The sex drive...

Re: Handing resumes in to the factory schools
haha. No. I came over here with about 2500. The rest is tied up back home. Not into the drugs or the bar scene which i find is depressing over here. Hookers seem nice though but i have a fear of waking up with a ladyboy.

Re: Handing resumes in to the factory schools
I am hoping to stay here for the foreseeable future if i can make enough money to live. 6 months is probably an oversight on my part. I would have no problem signing a one year contract with a school and seeing it out and possibly renewing/extending it if it was the right fit. Are you super old? I ...

Re: Handing resumes in to the factory schools
That "comedic" accent got me laid by a few girls way out of my league back in the day. Not Cork girls though. Doesn't work on them.

Re: Handing resumes in to the factory schools
Just an update on this. I've handed in about 15 CV's to schools and am also networking with a couple of guys who are handing my info into their contacts. In 2 weeks i have heard zilch so far. Not one phone call. I know things work a bit slower here but i thought i would have at least 1 interview lin...
