Land investment in Cambodia
Afternoon, my fellow 440 lurkers. I'm interested in buying land in Cambodia as a future investment. Alas, I don't want to put anything in the missus' name and I've heard as an alternative I can form a limited liability company to put the land under. Can anyone with experience shed some light on how ...

Re: Bringing back cigarettes to UK via Singapore
I wouldn't worry about it. I've been taking a few cartons back every time for years. I give one to a mate for picking me up from / dropping me to the airport airport. The rest I give away or sell for beer money. Everyone is happy. Apart from HMCE, I suppose, but that's what happens when you tax thi...

Re: Bringing back cigarettes to UK via Singapore
I went back to the UK this summer, transiting through KL. With me I took 1,400 cigarettes - 1,200 more than the allowed amount. They were in checked luggage. I had no problems as I changed planes in KL and was through and out of Heathrow in about 15-20 minutes, also with no problems. As I understan...

Maybe you're right... Although I might have nightmares of your avatar as I sleep in a box in HMPS.

Re: Bringing back cigarettes to UK via Singapore
If you’re transiting SG then no issue. UK are more hot on it then Singapore. Yeah I've read they've cracked down on tobacco and alcohol from non EU countries... Any insight into postage? I'm aware that if found they'll ask for tax to be payed and if not payed they'll be destroyed. But what are the ...

Bringing back cigarettes to UK via Singapore
Alright guys. I'm going back to the UK for 6 months soon and plan to bring back a few cartons of cigarettes for friends and family. Only problem is I'm flying via Singapore and I've heard they're pretty tough on the wheezy of us... I've managed to fly back from countries in Africa with copious amoun...

Re: Visa extension
Looks like it is a requirement unless you feel like going back and arguing your case with that dude again. Good luck with that. Yep. Probably going to the agency to avoid trouble, just doesn't sound quite right... You know, dealing with an independent middle man instead of the actual gov facility. ...

Visa extension
I need to extend my visa for a single month. I have the ordinary visa and it was my understanding that I extend this at immigration opposite the airport in PP. Just as I have done previously with tourist visas. The guy behind the visa extension was a bit sour to the people before me, and upon comple...

Cambodia circa WW2
So after a quick Google I found Cambodia was under French colonisation until the end of ww2, and then the Japanese briefly couped the country. I'm interested in the history of the country around this era. Are the local populace schooled on the happenings of the world war, and if so what are their ge...

Re: Smokeless tobacco
Yeah, it's a shame no place carries skoal in the entire damn country. There is a site called northerner that will ship smokeless tobacco to Cambodia if you trust it will arrive. It's basically a no for smokeless tobacco. I have been here since 2016 and I have never seen it here. I made the ride dow...

Yep. Handed them visa card, looked at my passport, then directed me to a woman with a webcam who took my mugshot... Much easier and quicker than I was told it would be. Also much easier than other countries I've entered...

Re: Visa border run
Could anyone enlighten me as to the possibility of an ordinary Cambodia visa of 3 months so I don't have to do this ball ache every 30 days? Is this possible at land borders, or has my decision of a tourist visa 2 months ago effed up the rest of my time here? No, there are no 3 month visas on arriv...
