Any agents able to get a visa?
Hi, I'm from the US and understand the $2,000 deposit requirement and difficulty obtaining a visa at the moment. If anyone knows an agent who's able to work something out please let me know. I have no associations, business or assets in Cambodia, so won't be surprised if a visa can not be obtained b...

Anyone have a business visa? What's the annual all in cost?
I'm about to turn 35 so this is my best long term option.

Actual Covid numbers
Cambodia has just over 100 documented cases: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
All countries are unable to capture the fully tally. In the US there may be 4 to 20 times the reported number. You guys think Cambodia follows those numbers or could it be way higher?

Would you buy a condo here?
I've lived in Thailand for 6 years and the common wisdom here is to avoid it for construction quality reasons. I suspect Cambodia is the same or worse, but am curious what you guys think. Is there any good reason to consider a condo purchase in Phnom Penh?

Any type of reserve system to have bath water during outages?
There's a long outage right now near the river front in Phnom Penh, at least for the current apartment. If moving here I'm wondering if anywhere sells reserve systems to keep the shower running at minimum. Ideally the sink and toilet too.

Backup generators
Hi, curious if you guys hake bought bakcup generators if your building did have them? I want something good enough to power a couple fans, computer and monitor. I plan to rent a lower cost place so will probably need my own backup generator.

I suppose you don't like to participate in city activities?

I live in Thailand but am considering a move to Phnom Penh. As a 34 year old the visa situation is getting progressively harder out here.

Are malfunctioning ATMs a concern?
I read elsewhere that ATMs in Cambodia can have problems: Dispensing $100 bills instead of $20s (or less) Bad programming including short changing and other issues How do you guys deal with big bills? I imagine most small service operations won't be able to handle such a big bill? Just how common is...

It's a shuttle van on both sides, so I'd say a fair amount. Damn, I hope they won't have to walk it that much.

Moving luggage across the Thai-Koh Kong border
I'll be moving about 1 room worth of possesions from Thailand to Koh Kong, to a taxi waiting to take me to Phnom Penh. Neither the Thai nor Khmer taxis are willing to cross the border. I have heard there are handlers at the border willing to move luggage across and will charge by some measure like w...

Western Union outbound transfers
In Thailand, Western Union allows outbound transfers to the US through their online site. Fees are low other than forex, making the breakeven against a bank transfer about $4,000. The Cambodian WU site doesn't have an online option. Has anyone done an in person transfer to a Western bank account? Ho...

Backup internet options
What fallback options do you guys have for when the landline internet or local electric goes down? In Thailand I have an AIS fixed data plan, 1mbps which is plenty for me. costs about $6/month. I use it when True goes down for whatever reason. If there's something like that in Phnom Penh that would ...
