Re: Siem Reap over Khmer New Year?
Last year, the water throwing and other (mostly good-natured) mayhem was strictly confined to Pub Street and only allowed on the evening of New Year's Day itself.
That said, I did have a middle-aged Khmer woman smear my face with talcum powder while standing at the supermarket checkout.

Sen Sok International Hospital has a Russian lady Oncologist:

This is not a recommendation as I have no first or second hand knowledge of her abilities; though I believe I did once read on a discussion board that she is competent.

Re: Berries
Here in Siem Reap it is frozen Blueberries and Strawberries at Lucky Mall and Angkor Market. Lucky Supermarket in Siem Reap often has fresh (or at least non-frozen), blueberries, blackberries and sometimes even raspberries - though obviously at a price. Fresh strawberries are almost always availabl...

Re: Paying tax for UK citizens on interest earned in Cambodi
Billy, Good information thank you. My understanding is that if you qualify as non-resident (not liable for UK income tax) the days permitted in the UK to stay as non-resident status are 90 or less (although I have always been under 45 anyway). The 90 day rule was clearly explained and confirmed to ...

Re: Paying tax for UK citizens on interest earned in Cambodi
If you are considered non-resident in the UK for tax purposes, you will not have to pay tax on the interest. Just be aware that the UK has tightened the rules on interpreting how tax residency is determined, and HMCR can now take into consideration things like maintaining a UK residence or operating...

Well potty, the British Heart Foundation, along with many other respected organizations, disagrees: http://www.bhf.org.uk/heart-health/prevention/smoking/shisha.aspx i used to smoke both cigarettes and Shisha when I worked in the Middle East. I was a 2-pack-a-day smoker but the first puff of Shisha...

Re: Best Way to Transfer Paypal to A Cambodian Bank
Why not get a US based address with the US shipping services, then get the US based paypal card? Wouldn't this allow for savings in the paypal fees? The problem with this strategy is that if PayPal decide to freeze your account for whatever reason, you will need US IDs and proof-of-address (utility...
