Get a job...no, wait, get an education first - then get a job...or just try to get a job...put the glass pipe down...for 1 day, 1 day only... Out of curiosity, why does a pipe being glass always refer to smoking something hard and illegal such as crack cocaine? Why did Sherlock Holmes never smoke h...

Re: Martini Bar
It should be kept in mind that Martinis has moved 3 times. Cathouse and Lido (Sharkys) are still at their original locations. Heart is at it's original location too, but it''s a completely different building. Yes, good point about Martinis moving. But it has kept faithful to its original raison d'e...

If you get paid to write about a bar, do you think you should divulge that at the outset?

Re: Fish and Chips
I understand the occasional craving for a food of one's youth, simply for nostalgic reasons. But otherwise, I would have thought climate impacts appetite enough to dissuade anyone living anywhere in tropical SE Asia from wanting a large dish of deep fat fried whatever. In Switzerland recently, I had...

Re: Looking 4 Cleaner
Hiring overqualified people for a job usually means you're just going to have to look all over again in couple months once they find the job and hours they're really looking for. If all your experience is in the office, you may take that cleaning job to make ends meet, but you'll never be as dedica...

instead of removing colourful words .........
I'm no mod, but my recommendation to the mods would be to simply ignore the more puerile posts by certain prolific posters. Who cares if Vlad, bigphatt, or whomever else takes exception to being treated the way most reasonably people would treat them? Don't dignify their posts with a response. Get d...

"tersely" i had to look that up, another american word that no one else uses Your claim is not supported by the data. Google has an "Ngram viewer" that lets you see the number of instances of words used in books over the past few hundred years. If you search on "terse:eng_us_2012 / ( terse:eng_gb_2...

Question about a girl
This hole in the front teeth is completely different from a missing tooth or teeth. I'm not completely certain, but I believe it is caused by some sort of substance abuse, not by poor dental care. Whenever I've seen it, I imagine someone drilling a hole in their two front teeth.

If your children respect and look up to you, as most children do if their parents are not complete reprobates, then that day when they see you "shooting up" or committing whatever vice they never imagined you would be involved in... that may prove to be a relationship changing bombshell. I am not ye...
