It's only 6 bucks for a bus from SHV to PP ffs.
$1 an hour.
SHV Tuktuk drivers will try and charge you $6 for a 5 minute ride to Otres beach.
It's not as if the barang price difference is like Bhutan or something.
Don't overcharge me on everyday items like beer though...

Re: Should I pay 100 baht (tip) extortion to customs agents?
If you're spending this much time and energy discussing the merits (and considerable impact) of paying 50 or 100 baht...you just might want to meditate deeply on the current direction of your path in life on earth... Dagenham, Couldn't you say the same about helmets and healthy eating though? Just ...

The wild Cambodian roads always remind me of the 1930's for some reason.

Re: Should I pay 100 baht (tip) extortion to customs agents?
I went through the Ko Kong crossing earlier this year, but had the ordinary visa/multiple entry so no money exchanged hands at all, no questions asked. You can however pay a 500 baht fee to the pestering touts outside if it is busy at the one immigration point - to go in the immigration side door, w...

Re: Air Asia flight QZ8501 missing
Tragic what's happened, but i see AirAsia Berhad the main business has been losing cash quite heavily every year since 2009 after capex, and has a whopping net debt of 7.7 billion RM. Could this push this company under as competition has grown over the last few years and the lenders get jittery? And ...

Re: top your self
Horace, I've never had gout so not tellin a chicken how to lay eggs or nuffin, but is it lower back pain you have? I put my lower back out years ago and i'm now convinced that where my lower back is tight it has pulled my pelvis up at the back (anterior pelvic tilt), which rotates the femurs inwards...

Re: Air Asia flight QZ8501 missing
Again, for those who see a pattern, why aren't you including the Taiwan and African crashes into your pattern, or do they ruin the pattern somewhat? Well, i would say that these 3 airliners changing course is a pattern. Not knowing WTF the planes went down so long after the initial news is a possib...

Two airliners go missing in the same area...flying from the same country..whilst a second (wayward?) Malaysia airlines plane is shot down over Russia in less than a year is not a disturbing pattern?scobienz wrote:A tragedy yes, but hardly a disturbing pattern.

Re: Air Asia flight QZ8501 missing
Jaysus, The area is getting like the fugging Bermuda Triangle. Bad weather, thunderstorms apparently. Makes you wonder if there are design issues in storms with these composite planes or something? ''As composites can have as little as 1/1,000th the electrical conductivity of aluminum, conductive ma...

Maybe they are another Ryanair that make's their money from people not reading the small print, ie, bag 1 inch too big - you have to pay more?
Anyway hope the flights go well.
