Meanwhile back in reality... http://farazjaka.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Fort-Lauderdale-Landscape.jpg Hardly the reality of living in Broward Couty. Hilarious that you choose Ft. Lauderdale to argue your point. From the local papers there just today. Fort Lauderdale police move homeless so the...

Re: U.S. Imported Turkeys
I still wonder what makes the United States turkeys so unique? I grew up in a countryside and the turkeys are naturally raised as you can get than the force-feeding things from Monsanto products. http://www.peta.org/issues/animals-used-for-food/factory-farming/turkeys/ But the story is very differe...

He was one of the reasons I read this site daily, despite living on the other side of the globe now.
Nearly everything I've come to understand about Cambodian politics/elections I've gleaned from his posts.

Re: Does your Cambodian S.O. get mistaken for another nationality in Cambodia?
Not my S.O., but her best friend. She has slightly lighter skin and rounder face than the wife and I have been sitting next to her at a few restaurants or bars and the staff has asked her if she is Viet. After the second time it happened I realized they were surprised she was speaking Khmer so well....

Re:
I had forgotten they now take fingerprints. While they already have my fingerprints at a Sangkat (presumably) I don't think they would be on an electronic database. Anyone ever managed to divert them from taking them at the airport? I hate to become part of the USA system in that way. sent directly...

2nd Amendment or not, it would take decades upon decades to meaningfully reduce the number of guns in circulation, if its even possible.

Re: What is the greatest Sporting Event
Jock Jock's post on the Ryder Cup has got me thinking about what is the best sporting event. For me I think the Ryder Cup takes it. It has rivalry, teamwork, variety of competition, tactics, its extremely competitive (normally) & it lasts long enough but not too long that you lose interest. (Also N...

Re: K1 Fiancee Visa - APPROVED
Wouldn't it make sense to also have her take a driving class in Cambodia? Just to familairize herself with cars, then tell her to disregard everything the Cambodian instructor tells her. I'd love to see a Cambodian driving instructor attempt parallel parking. On a related note, set a date for that ...

Re: K1 Fiancee Visa - APPROVED
Because presumably you want your children to get your stuff after you die. If you end up divorced from their stepmother, they lose 1/2 their inheritance. And if you die without a will, your wife gets everything and they probably lose 1/2 their inheritance. http://www.cnbc.com/2015/02/12/remarrying-...

Re: K1 Fiancee Visa - APPROVED
Thank you. She has already started making contacts among the Khmer community in Phoenix, where we will be living. We found a traditional Khmer restaurant and the girl that owns it has been helping my wife make a few contacts via FaceBook. So I think she will be okay. I found a Khmer pagoda to go to...
