Sunday afternoons at L'Orchidee. I am not in town, give them a call to make sure someone is there playing. The equipment is with the owner.

Re: Myanmar visa
Tried five different Visa cards, all of which should be fine and they all failed. Acleda MasterCard worked first time though. Will report back on efficiency of the process once the visa comes through.

Myanmar visa
Hi All, I need to go to Yangon on Thursday. The Myanmar embassy website says a three day turnaround which could be difficult. My agent says express is not available. Has anyone any experience of getting one of these visas quickly. I've been there many times in the past but it's been a few years sinc...

Stuff held at customs
I brought in two posh ceiling fans last week with AliExpress. The fans cost $90 each with shipping of $150, total cost $330. Post office got $7 and customs got $23 bringing total purchase price to $360. The local price would have been about $20 bucks more and the leadtime longer. However, greedy cus...

ESL Teacher looking for work
I'm shocked to hear that the much prized CELTA, which takes a whopping 120 hours to complete, does not entitle all holders to a permanent pensionable job paying $10,000 a month. Maybe it is not the Holy Grail that holders would try to have us believe.
