Re: Bitcoins worth more than gold
China's "crypto" is a bit special. "Unlike cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, the digital yuan will not use blockchain, distributed ledger technology which allows transactions to be validated without the need for banks." And why might China want it's own digital currency? Widespread use of the digital ...

Re: Economist article: Cambo Rat Exports
I read that the rats being harvested at least live on sugar cane, rather than garbage like the rats most of us are familiar with. Vegetarian rats, especially ones that eat sugar, surely taste better.

Re: Gross Christmas Dinners from aroound the world.
Getting back to the original post, I looked through the whole article OP linked to, and surprisingly, it was just the British Christmas meals that looked pretty horrid. Here's the salad they suffered through. The thought of eating this at room temperature... :barf: https://i.postimg.cc/8cWSVPmT/Chri...

Here's a pretty current "heat map" of regions affected by the hack.
Interesting how Russia appears totally immune.

Re: FireEye hacked: tools stolen: Russia?
Russia lacks both the resources (Human and money) as well as the core deep tech knowledge China has. For those who doubt Russia's capabilities, a recently published book on the topic comes highly recommended. I think they'll learn that Russia is a lot more sophisticated than meets the eye. "For exp...

COVID Takes a Prime Minister's Life
Since the beginning of the year, a number of prominent politicians have tested positive for COVID, but to my knowledge, none of have succumbed, that is until today. The country now in need of a prime minister is Eswantini, a tiny African country that I didn't know was on the map until a few minutes ...

Re: FireEye hacked: tools stolen: Russia?
I don’t see anything in FireEye’s report indicating that it was done by Russians. Where is that coming from? There is a lot of finger pointing at Russia in this New York times piece, though it seems mostly to be educated guesswork, rather than evidence backed. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/08/tec...

Re: Japanese people cleaning up the streets!
Japan must be the cleanest place on earth. The people are taught to take ownership as children and they do not have janitors at schools. Kids wouldn't be such pigs in the west if that kind of discipline was applied there. As for Cambodia, I remember a discussion on FB about trying to teach some dis...
