Re: words (សម្ដី vs ពាក្យ)
you only mention "ពាក្យ (peark)" (twice) and "ហក្យ" which I assume is a typo and you really meant "ពាក្យ (peark)". Yes, sorry, that was a typo. In my understanding, ពាក្យ (peark) refers more to "word" as a grammatical and language unit, while សម្ដី (samdey) refers to "speech." That makes sense. I ...

words (សម្ដី vs ពាក្យ)
I tend to use ពាក្យ when saying 'words', but I'm wondering if I should be using ពាក្យ instead. Also, when would ហក្យ be used?

Re: Donald Sterling racist comments
I am starting to see something strange about all this re: the sale of the team. The Clippers are a shit team with low attendance compared to other NBA teams. It just sold for 2 billion. Which means it just massively increased the value of every other team above it. Hmmm... Before this scandal broke...

Re: Would You Pay $1,000 Once to Get Free Beer for Life?
The general consensus seems to be that assuming the bar stays in business (maybe the funds should be held in an escrow account and chunks dispersed over time), this seems like a pretty good deal for the alcoholic patrons. From the bar owner's perspective: - We need a lower-bound age limit. We can't ...

Re: Eggs Benedict at Metro
Those fabulous recommendations were later replaced with an interview of a long-term expat who recommended Martini's as a good place for a quiet drink. Come to think of it, Martini's was the name of the charming little bar in It's a Wonderful Life where George went to drown his sorrows. I could imag...

Re: Eggs Benedict at Metro
There was a travel magazine on flights between Singapore and PP between 2007 and (at least) 2009, which had a Phnom Penh city profile that consisted of two "must-try" dishes for visitors to Cambodia: the eggs benedict at Metro and the croque-monsieur from La Croisette. Those fabulous recommendations...

Would You Pay $1,000 Once to Get Free Beer for Life?
$1000 might be a bit rich for all the hand-to-mouth alcoholic expats about, but I would imagine that even a quarter of that price could prove profitable for a PP-bar owner - especially given the flow of expats in and out of the country, either through repatriation or a waft of smoke from their local...
