Re: Mongerer asks for help to pay medical bills
That's Stan the weather man, there was a whole thread on here about him recently when he was submitted to Calmette following a stroke (?) iirc. A very well liked bloke by the Kampot community. I'd say that its highly unlikely he's much of a "mongerer" , considering he's lived in the sticks out of K...

Re: Emergence of Khmer runners
No shame, everyone has their own targets, not everyone is going to be a world beater, keep up the effort and you will be rewarded. Personally believe, running 10k at that age competitively is not a good idea especially in such conditions. Probably, 5k would be more appropriate (max) for children of ...

Still a little way off 35:34 the world record for a 11 year old!ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:T_P_T
On a separate note. There was an 11 year foreign boy ran the 10km race today and ran it in 48 minutes. That’s a cracking time for a kid who was half the height of the other runners.

Re: Emergence of Khmer runners
It seems to be the same faces and perhaps a couple of new ones getting podiums. It also seems to remain that local women's podium or near podium times are not that quick. That's not a criticism. Just small turnouts enable slower runners to place. 3rd place in women's 10km was 54mins , with years of...

Re: Emergence of Khmer runners
I did notice a Khmer athlete was competing in the World indoor champs at Birmingham the other day. He was disqualified with the rest of the runners in the heat ( lane infringements), but I believe his finishing time was around 4.40, a time that the average 14 year old UK athlete could run. His perso...

Re: Bus to the airport
the kkstar buses link posted above are dedicated airport buses which go into the airport and stop at major hotel for $5 a trip versus 1500reil for the new local china buses Ah didn't click through that link. But for $5 you can get a tuk tuk to the airport from pretty much anywhere as long as you ar...

Re: Bus to the airport
It will be fun in rainy season if it doesn't drop people off inside to be fair it is not an "airport bus", it is a local, reasonably clean, comfortable, affordable bus that does a loop which happens to stop outside or near the airport in both directions. If you want door to door service then get a ...

Re: Probable Bulgarian Unabomber wannabe steals ATM pin pad shield
I’ve never seen or heard of anyone being asked to remove their hat/sunglasses/fake nose whilst using an ATM in any country. I was asked to remove my prescription sunglasses in Canadia but every time I tried to read the thing she was showing me by putting them back on she told me off! surprisingly, ...
