Re: pet cat in Cambodia
^^ Seconded. I believe a 5-year old child may be too young to interact with a cat unsupervised. WTF. It's a pet to play and stroke now and again. She doesn't want to discuss Kierkegaard with it. Lara . . just get the cat, do the vaccinations and don't overthink it. It's a cat. If your daughter want...

Re: pet cat in Cambodia
Lara, I strongly agree with everything Hanno has written. Honestly, I have some reservations about getting a cat for your four-year-old daughter. Unless you are willing to spend the time to educate your child on how to handle a cat properly and gently enough, it's likely to turn into a miserable exp...

Re: Reign of King Rama 9 is over (CONFIRMED)
You might actually find a more " toned down " nightlife experience sans ear splitting music and crap cover bands is actually a more enjoyable and more sociable experience, I don't think they add much too the real Thai experience especially in a nice location like Chiang Mai. It won't be morbid and ...

Re: Reign of King Rama 9 is over (CONFIRMED)
I appreciate the conversation about Thailand's political future, and I'm genuinely interested in it, as well, but at the moment, I need to take the conversation down a notch. I'd planned to spend the last week in October in Chiang Mai, meeting up with some friends from KL. With all due respect to Hi...

Re: abdominal ecography
In Phnom Penh, check out Polyclinique Aurore, 58-60 St 113. They can do ultrasounds and x-rays, but not CAT scans or MRIs. (Someone please correct me on that last bit if I've got it wrong. They might have an MRI machine tucked in there somewhere... but I doubt it.)

Re: Where would one get the one-year business visa extension?
It's like PSD_Kiwi said -- one month extension of the business/ordinary visa is single-entry only. Multiple-entry only with 6- or 12-month extensions. 12 months is roughly $280 using an agent. Check with a travel agency on the 6-month price. If your hotel is asking you $150 for a one-month extension...

Re: Hotel Skipper
Sounds like someone is unclear on the concept of "monitoring".He was monitored while waiting for the credit card to be delivered and paid cash, but cleaned out the mini bar and took the hair dryer (besides walking out on the cost of the room).

The Malaysian press is beginning to predict a long overdue bubble-burst in KL, too. A pity the crash is coming only after all the green lungs and heritage buildings have been destroyed... http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/unsold-units-continue-to-dampen-property-market-in-mal...

Re: Australian Kristy Anne Blackney 24, Found Dead in Kampot
... The question that I have is what reason is there to believe she drowned, other than that she was found wearing a swimsuit in a river? Unfortunately I can no longer remember the source, but I did read somewhere recently that Cambodia has no forensic facilities, neither the equipment nor the staf...

we used to live up-river <along the road> about 200m from arcadia <far right in image above>... we've paddled, swam, explored the whole river above and below arcadia <and greenhouse> this is NOT a creek - the river is 120m wide at arcadia... plus, there are some grade 2-3 rapids just 1km. above arc...

Why traffick drugs into Malaysia or Singapore knowing you face the death penalty? Gee, I dunno... Do you suppose money has anything to do with it?TheCicero wrote:Why come to Cambodia to be a part of a human trafficking scheme when you could: not do that.

Re: Good dog...anybody knows it?
out of curiosity, what are the options for dog and for cat boarding in PP and Sihanoukville? In PP, another I know is the Pet Resort. I tried it a few times when I go back home and was always happy. The setting is stunning, acres of space right on the river, with beautiful kennels. The only problem...

Re: Video of Failed Recuscitation Attempt after Drowning
Flipping a choking person upside down (in lieu of the Heimlich maneuvre) can work, dislodging the food that's stuck in the throat, but for drowning?
This looks a tad... unorthodox.
