Re: RIP LTO
LTO was a poster who always stood out for me. Perhaps it was his stories of Sihanoukville from years back as I lived there for a while or perhaps it was the fact he seemed like such a nice guy. We never met, but today because of this news I realise that we have a friend in common. Wish I had the cha...

Re: Monthly gym membership
Cost of equipment is up there too, if you want anything near international standards then be prepared to pay between $9'000 to $15'000 per treadmill. And then be prepared for them to eventually fail and become outdated in a few years. With regular maintenance fees during that period. You're looking...

Re: Monthly gym membership
... Cost of high rents is another issue, try covering the rent on a decent location in the city with a few hundred members. Cost of equipment is up there too, if you want anything near international standards then be prepared to pay between $9'000 to $15'000 per treadmill. And then be prepared for ...

Re: Monthly gym membership
I have looked into the costs involved with opening a gym here. Aside from the high cost of equipment and electricity the biggest issue is this. The means by which your clients pay. In more developed countries a small gym can have in excess of 1000 people singed up and paying monthly fees via direct...

Bretton Sciaroni, perhaps, although I wouldn't use the word 'famous' I get the impression most people know who he is.

Re: Violent Russians in Sihanoukville
^ Spot on you are. Here is this odious article again. In its' pitch to attract more hipsters to Cambodia/Sihanoukville: There are craft cocktails at the bars and a locally distilled, organic absinthe served with flaming sugar by a guy named Johan. https://munchies.vice.com/en/articles/cambodias-mos...

Re: Violent Russians in Sihanoukville
the guy who was found dead on the same road to Otres last week used to run a guesthouse and absinthe distillery on Koh Ta Kiev. Highly speculative, but any connection between him, these two, and the Russians? I was also told today that the previous Otres road victim is indeed the KTK absinthe guy. ...

Re: pet cat in Cambodia
If you want a pet simply for a small child to play with and you don't want any hassle, why not get a rabbit? Don't need to worry about it picking up diseases, going missing etc and I imagine it's a whole lot cheaper.

Re: Violent Russians in Sihanoukville
As they have named the culprit I guess they don't mind people talking about it,
My guess is it's a beef going back to the organisation of the Kazantip festival.
Edit* He confirmed as much in the facebook comments.

Re: Sihanoukville: Brand New Bar Complex + Beach Update
Considering these beer bar complexes have failed specularly in Pattaya - a resort that likely gets 50 tourists for every 1 that visits Sihanoukville, it's hard to work out what the developers are thinking. Those places are a graveyard of 'Bar for sale' noticeboards. Even still if you look at the sq...

Re: Sihanoukville: Brand New Bar Complex + Beach Update
i personally dont care for shv, but i wonder, are there enough visitors ( Chinese arrivals don't really count) to justify that many new bars? plus higher rents than all the current bars at golden lion i am sure There seems to be a micro economic cimalte in SHV where expats buy bars of other expats ...
