Someone won? I heard it was over $13k with just 6 cards left. Over the last week a number of barangs I've spoken to were getting very excited about the prospect of winning this pot and spoke about it it almost life changing terms. English teachers, obviously.

Only in Cambodia ......violet wrote:ok.. I guess the extra loud cheers were of relief that there was still another chance!!
Been part of the madness twice in last month or so - yeh a huge cheer goes up when no one wins! Keeps everyone happy for another week. All the Cambodians I talk to are 100% convinced there is no joker on the board and it will be slipped in when 2 cards are left. I don't buy into such conspiracy but I do appreciate that they know their country only too well. From the cheering I can also appreciate that no one would care.
I came, I argued, I'm out

There were no winners on Friday so the pot has now increased to over $17k with just four cards left. Of course, now we are talking fairly big money the white NGO females have started turning up. They're quite easy spot as they look like vegans in a meat packing factory.

It must be killing said female NGO's to be spending money in the Walkabout, but i suppose ideals go out the window with the thought of winning over $17,000keeping_it_riel wrote:There were no winners on Friday so the pot has now increased to over $17k with just four cards left. Didn't go myself. Talked to somebody who did. According to her, biggest crowd yet. People buying enough tickets to catalog them on A4 sheets and pass out photocopies amongst investors. TV cameras or some sort of large video cameras on site. It was too crowded for her comfort. She bought her 10 tickets and hung out at Zep until the time of the draw.
