http://www.phnompenhpost.com/index.php/ ... poned.htmlMusic legend Leonard Cohen’s scheduled November 27 concert in Phnom Penh has been postponed until an unspecified date, according to a statement posted today on the website of the event’s Cambodian-based organiser the Mekong Sessions.
The statement from the event management company cited “logistical issues” for the cancellation but affirmed a commitment to rescheduling the concert for an undisclosed future date.
“Leonard Cohen, Robert Kory Management, AEG Live and the Mekong Sessions regret to inform ticket holders and fans that the 27 November Phnom Penh concert has been postponed to a date to be announced due to logistical issues insurmountable in the given time prior to the performance,” the statement read.
The statement also said that all ticket holders would be eligible to receive full refunds, instructing people who purchased tickets by cash to visit the Mekong Sessions office in Phnom Penh from November 10.
No provisions were outlined for the refund of tickets purchased through non-cash based transactions.

No troll. From http://www.themekongsessions.com/index. ... &Itemid=10
Postponed...
I almost felt sorry for 'em. But then I realised it was them idiots themselves that were asking ridiculous prices, and planning to support Bun Rany's favourite charity / CPP-promotool. And then the arrogance in their public reactions.
Sorry Mr Minko, but for the moment I'm in schadenfreudeland.

I wonder whether having set ridiculously high prices and therefore not selling enough tickets is the main insurmountable logistical issue...due to logistical issues insurmountable in the given time prior to the performance.

this, from that pattaya link should get a few people squirming, and about time too.
A shame this thing has been canceled. The choice of one of the charities was poor, but otherwise it was a sweet irony bilking the ruling elite and their good-businesswomen wives of $600. They should have pitched them at $2000, or $5000, and that may have solved the logistics problems too.Immigration now has more than 2,000 warrants to arrest foreigners for crimes commited outside of Thailand and are opening an INTERPOL office

this is a real drag for all.It has turned out that having had this great idea about inviting LC to come and perform in Cambodia, the local pormoter didn't do any homework on the costs involved and lied about not needing the ticket sales to pay the bills. It's a pity since, despite the challenges involved, the practical aspects of the production were eminently achievable and I am sure it would have been a good time in a good cause
Good luck getting your money back Violet!
I might try to get a ticket to the show in Oz or NZ.

You should demand royalties for funding this video production. I've heard that they might be the opening act for some Bob Dylan concert next year.violet wrote:Bought on credit card. Will def. get the money back...

I am thinking mostly of the local cash sales. But who knows, maybe I am just overly jaded. /shrugviolet wrote:why shouldn't I get it back? I've received an email already telling me that the card used to purchase it will be refunded.Felgerkarb wrote:Good luck getting your money back! Bwhahahahaha!
