Have you Bobby the prick personally decide to bring this forum backtolife by resurrecting old threads?

I thought it was odd this thread began with a reporting of the water festival and didn't conclude with the tragedy. It is also timely considering it is almost water festival time again.horace wrote:Have you Bobby the prick personally decide to bring this forum backtolife by resurrecting old threads?RickyBobby wrote:Wow, were you there to witness the tragedy on the 22nd?

A forum without posters is like a store without products. My suggestion to you is that if you-find it annoying, go get a blank piece of paper and stare at it for a while to calm yourself the fuck down.

I don't see anything bad with resurrecting old threads instead of just creating new ones that tackle similar subjects. It also saves GavinMac the effort of posting links to past threads.
It would be interesting to hear if anyone was in town when the stampede happened - 347 deaths and over 700 injured. What a terrible way to die as well.
When will the roads around riverside start to be blocked off? I'm leaving town Wednesday morning, but will I have trouble driving around Tuesday night or Wednesday morning?

I was but had been drinking all day and had gone to bed early. The first we knew of it was being woken up by the sirens - many emergency vehicles driving down Street 19. And then the later news reports.

In the past they didn't generally start shutting off the roads until mid-morning of the races, so if the races start on Wednesday you should be okay on Tuesday evening. However, I said the past as in pre tragedy times it may all be different now.
And in answer to your previous question. Yes, I was in town that year. My apartment was opposite Wat Botum so you couldn't get much closer to Koh Pich and like 1984 I went to bed early as was and still is my custom, although back then I would have almost certainly been both drunk n stoned. I never heard a thing, not a dicky bird. My sister in the UK sent me an SMS enquiring about my welfare and talked about the tragedy. I had no idea what she was on about and not having a TV or radio , I gave both up many years before , I had to get the news from K440!
