Perhaps admin could pony up for the wifes release as a way of apologizing ?

Why would one use an internet forum to find out the details of a deceased relative? Third world prison or not, I am positive they would have a phone, records of the prisoners detained within and given the heat i'm sure they would notice a dead guy. Especially after 3 days.
Isn't it considered good luck to be claimed as being dead when in actual fact one is still very much alive?

Mark Twain.
Did K.I.R inform the kids that their dad was dead or did he he put a post on this website and then somebody else told the family based on something they read on KM440 and having no other evidence. If i'm breaking that type of news to a wife and kids i'm checking those facts 3 or 4 times with as many sources as possible before I pop down the street. If i'm posting it on a website I know they're not reading then maybe i'll check them slightly less.

Exactly. I believe it was Birdy who relayed the information to the family.angsta wrote:Mark Twain.

"It is not a moderators job to play with peoples lives by presenting such devastating information as fact."--Birdy
hmmm..
That's like, your opinion, man.
Well, whatever, someone owes Gabriel an apology. He's been waiting for days
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I knew the other guy involved in this - Steve Pedrotta.
He was a mate of a mate in Bangkok. He originally went to Bangkok in a good expat role, but the years of living there fucked him up badly and he slid down the ladder, eventually ending up cadging money in bars. Towards the end of 2010 my mate and I used to see him around, and he kept speaking vaguely of overseas trips to - of all places Madagascar - where he said he was consulting to some supermarket company. Very strange story and we didnt believe it.
When this news hit, it was obvious what he had been up to. The guy was an idiot. He came from a good family in Australia, but the family were sick of bailing him out and eventually cut him off, unless he came home. He preferred to stay in Thailand at any cost it seems, and this was the inevitable consequence.
He was a cocky little shit - knew everything about everything and regularly wrote letters to the Bangkok Post or Nation, pontificating on some subject or other.
My understanding (never verified) was that he and the PP guy got 20 years for pleading guilty and they're eligible for being deported in another ten years, to finish their sentences in Australia and the UK respectively.
Sadly, Pedrotta had just got married and his wife was expecting a child.

It's scant consolation for them, but at least neither of these guys will have 'Angel of Death' Ken Svay visiting them in the Bangkok Hilton - a fate that awaits Fletch on his return. When Ken Svay visits you in the Big House it really is akin to The Grim Reaper tapping you on the nape of your neck with his icy, long, skeletal fingers.
Twitter: Not my circus, not my monkeys - I sold #K440
I could be wrong, but I don't think they're in Bang Kwang. I have a feeling that at least Pedrotta is in Samut Sakhon Provincial Jail

So where is the old scumbag, Fletch the Letch? I believe the deportation order was that he'd be brought back within 90 days. It's gotta be nearly up.keeping_it_riel wrote:It's scant consolation for them, but at least neither of these guys will have 'Angel of Death' Ken Svay visiting them in the Bangkok Hilton - a fate that awaits Fletch on his return.
