Past Tense Bars
Chaps
I'm researching an article and need a little help. Can we please put our collective thinking caps on and make a list of barang orientated bars to have closed since late 2008 when I last wrote a piece on this topic.
To start the ball rolling.....

Winking Frog, Huxley's
Might be easier to have a thread listing the bars that are still open since 2008.

Theary's bar would have opened and closed its doors since then. Broken Bricks closed at some stage in 2008, but that might have been the earlier in the year. Coyote Ugly during the Wat Phnom crackdown of '09. Sugar Shack- sometime in '08, I think.

....Knickers & Lickers and the list goes on.
The above list includes some amazing meltdowns and tales of total fuckedupness. Plus one or two stories that can only now be told for the first time.

And yet, every month or so, you get another genius who comes along who wants to open a bar in Cambodia, thinking they can make "a bit of an income". hahaha. Example;
............... errrrm, maybe not. But your monthly donation to the Land Lord, EDC, the Khmer staff and the local establishment will be good for the local economy while it lasts.
from the "Barang Bar ownership" thread in the business forum.

Alright, it's not going to bring in huge bucks, but i guess it is an income.shizzle wrote:If you're still seriously considering it, you should have a chat with dv8inpp about bar ownership, because in under five minutes, he can rattle off all the sad numbers in terms of cost of ownership, maintenance, margins, etc - And you'll quickly realize that its not worth the trouble.
